A. Shama Rao Nursing School is having its own land of 7 acres at Valachil with a building having four floors to accommodate the institution.  It is having 21 full time teachers to teach the programmes.  It is functioning in Association with the sister institution of Srinivas Institute of Nursing Sciences.

CLASS ROOMS

There are four classrooms of GNM students.  The class rooms are equipped with LCD, Loud speaker and Over Head Projector.

LABORATORIES

There are eight well equipped laboratories for fundamentals of Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Maternity and Child Health Nursing, Nutrition, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry and Microbiology for the use of students.

LIBRARY

The school is equipped with a modern library.  The library has 3,138 books and 22 Journals (national and international) relating to various Nursing disciplines.  Besides, internet facility is also available in the libraryThe library’s Helinet also serves as a portal to selected databases, full-text journals and information resources on the World Wide Web, including, Academic Search Complete and many subject-specific resources.

 CLINICAL FACILITIES

The school provides clinical training facilities to all students at various reputed hospitals in the city like Govt. Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore Nursing Home, Somayaji Hospital, Lady Goschen Hospital. These hospitals are managed by reputed professionals and is equipped with state of art equipments.

CANTEEN FACILITIES

Two canteens are available for the students to suit their taste and pockets.

SPORTS AND GAMES

Realizing that the physical health or physical fitness is an integral part of wholistic health, the college has provided excellent facilities for indoor and outdoor games including chess, caroms, table tennis, volley ball, badminton, football, basket ball, cricket and athletics.

STUDENT RECORDS

Personal records are maintained for each student. Besides separate health records also are maintained with the details of Annual Medical Checkup and Vaccinations. Student’s records are kept in strict confidence.

IMMUNIZATIONS

All the students must be take Hepatitis B (DNA) and tetanus toxoid.
