Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) understands that the MBA program is not only for learning the contents of books but more importantly it’s about learning by experience and exposure. In order to fulfill this requirement, SIMS has developed various value additions to the course content. These value additions are the contribution by the faculty members from their learning in Industry and academia over the years. With these value additions students can enlighten themselves with practical outlook of the industry.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM:

The newly admitted students for the MBA program come from various disciplinary backgrounds like commerce, arts and science. It is required that the platform is set for the students in such a way that heterogeneity in the disciplinary backgrounds of the students can be minimized and they can be oriented towards the management education. A week long orientation program has been designed in SIMS to fulfill this objective.

VALUE ADDITION PROGRAMMES:

In order to add value to the course contents prescribed by the University, our institute has developed certain value additions.

  • Dual specialization program
  • Certificate courses in SPSS, Tally, Business Law, Retail management
  • Finance Forum conducts various programmes like quizzes, guest lectures, mock stock game, symposium on stock market etc.
  • Marketing Forum conducts various programs such as marketing quiz, blind fold test, toy and greeting cards selling competition, industrial visits and guest lectures.
  • HR Forum conducts role plays, guest lectures and publishes newsletters

INTERNATIONAL TOUR:

Srinivas Group has a MOU with Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, London, U.K. through which the students of our Institute get an opportunity to attend a one week program at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education along with the industrial visits in London. Previously our students visited Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia on a study tour and visited various organizations in those places.

MAGMA:

MAGMA is a National Level Management Fest organized annually by the MBA students of SIMS in which various concept based management games are organized for the participating teams and awards are presented to the outstanding performers. MAGMA provides the students of SIMS an opportunity to organize a program and improve their organizing skills and it provides an opportunity for the participating teams to learn the concepts in Management in the simulated environment of Management Games.

MEGA INDIA:

Mega India is a weeklong seminar series of first semester MBA students. The objective of this program is to asquint the students with the Indian business environment. Mega India includes seminars by the students themselves, role plays, case studies, exhibitions, guest lectures and industrial visits.

INDIA UNLIMITED: Economic Exhibition

India Unlimited is an activity to exhibit the applications of the concepts of Economics in the business management of organizations. The activity consist of an exhibition by the students of I Semester MBA, divided into small groups, presentation of their arguments and the open defense of the arguments put forth by them.

PICTURE PERFECT: Collage and Chart Making

Pectoral representation of management concepts in this activity - Picture Perfect - aims at recapitulating the concepts of business management and their evolution. The activity is organized for the I Semester MBA students as a part of their curriculum of Principles and Practice of Management.

MATRIX:

Matrix is a weeklong seminar series of fourth semester MBA students. The objective of this program is to asquint the students with the International business environment. Matrix includes seminars by the students themselves, role plays, case studies, exhibitions, guest lectures and industrial visits.

SAMYUKTHA:

SAMYUKTHA - a campus to corporate program is organized annually by the placement cell to build knowledge, skills and attitude essential for corporate placements. Industrialists and corporate executives address the students in areas of recruitment and career opportunities.

MANEGMA:

Research has its own contribution to the development of any field of knowledge. At SIMS annually a one day National Level Seminar, MANEGMA, is arranged to encourage the researchers in the field of Management. The seminar generally discusses the contemporary issues in Management and presents a platform to the budding researchers to present their thoughts.

CULTURAL BONANZA:

SIMS also encourages the students to exhibit their talents in the areas other than the one related to their curriculum. This helps the students to keep their stress low and concentrate on their overall development. Students at SIMS celebrate Friendship Day, Onam Celebration, Independence day, Teachers Day and also conduct Painting competition, Story Writing, Dumb charades, Pencil Sketching, Collage Making, Poem Writing, Essay writing, Rangoli, Flower Arrangement, Cultural Day - Which includes singing competitions, fancy dress, mime show, dance competition, variety entertainment, Mono acting, instrumental, mimicry and movie spoof etc.

SPORTS and GAMES:

SIMS encourages the sportsmen in its students. Annually students of the Institute participate in different sports and games tournaments and also organize a few and award them the “SIMS CUP”. Our students have represented the University at state and national level tournaments. Annual sports and games meet of Srinivas Group is a splendor to the eyes of the spectators

Five Cells have been developed to provide all round knowledge building among the students of SIMS.

GUEST LECTURES:

Guest lectures on the topics of relevance are held on a weekly by eminent personalities from industry and academia.
