Department of Computer Science:
Department Aim:
To be one of the best departments, to motivate and help students in their overall development, to achieve 100 percent placement in good IT companies.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering offers undergraduate B.E (CSE) program with an annual intake of 120. The department regularly conducts special courses on advanced topics, to bridge the gap between the university curriculum and the need of the industry.
Facilities:
The department has 8 computer laboratories with 300 computer terminals connected to Windows 2003 / Linux servers. These machines also have individual hard disk and are Windows Vista/Xp bootable. All the necessary softwares required to carry out regular laboratory work and project work are available in the department. These facilities are exclusively for undergraduate students of Computer Science. 4Mbps leased line connectivity for internet access is also available.
Activities:
ASCIE, (Association for Computer Science & Engineering and Information Science & Engineering Educatee ) conducts workshops, seminars, quiz programmes, project competitions and online competitive exams. The department encourages students to participate in curricular and co-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to publish research papers in journals and present the same at conferences.
Value Added Courses: the department conducts the following value added courses to the students:
i)PC assembly and Trouble shooting
ii)Information Storage and Management (ISM) in association with EMC Corporation.

Department of Civil Engineering
The Department is training the students in the Elements of Civil Engineering for all branches of I and II semester Engineering. The basic aim of this subject is to produce engineers of caliber, who with their knowledge and skill in decision-making both in technical and managerial spheres in optimizing usage of resources locally and globally, making the world more Eco friendly to live-in.
Department of Physics
The Physics department has a dedicated faculty team headed by Dr. Suryanarayana K. and has got well equipped spacious laboratories to help the students. The Department has been getting excellent results both in theory and practical examinations. The staff members involve themselves in the welfare of the students. They have very good teacher – student interaction and all the teachers are student counselors also. This ensures good academic performance of the students.
Department of Chemistry
Department of chemistry is engaged in teaching Engineering Chemistry for all branches of I & II semester Engineering. The Faculty members in the department with their vast experience were able to guide the students well, in the leadership of Department HOD Dr. Gopalakrishna Bhat. In the year 2009 this branch is recognised as VTU Research Centre.
Department of Mathematics
The department is equipped with young & dynamic, well qualified & experienced faculty team. As a result the department has been witnessing excellent results. Staff members of the department have undergone various faculty development programmes, seminars, workshops for upgrading their level of knowledge. The department has been taking innovative ideas to reach higher levels of teaching excellence and is assisting the students to excel in their studies.
