Started in the year 2006 and gained the name as first self-financed best infrastructure wise engineering college in Karnataka.

It is a unit of A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangalore and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

The Institute is located at Srinivas Campus spread over 15 acres of land at Valachil, Arkula village about 15 Kms. from Mangalore city towards B C Road adjacent to NH 48. The college has been taken steps to develop campus as a Green Campus with an Eco-friendly environment.

The college is initiated with 4 engineering branches, within one year SIT offers Master degree in Business Administration & Computer Application. The Institute has well qualified, committed and motivated faculty. The mission of the Institute is to provide knowledge based technological education to the students and train them as a competent professional manpower with ethical values to fulfill the needs of the society and industry by implementing the State-of-the Art education including technological innovation.

Within one year of history all the departments have well equipped laboratories and workshop facilities. In addition, there are a number of central facilities which include up to date central     library, a well-equipped workshop, sports and games facilities with indoor and outdoor play grounds, central computing facility equipped with state of the art computers end peripherals.
