REPORT ON CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMME FOR PRACTICING PHARMACISTS

Srinivas College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Karnataka State, Bengaluru & D.K District Local branch, Mangalore and Drugs control department, Mangalore organized a function to mark Continuing Education Programme for practicing Pharmacists on WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY Theme: “Safe and Effective medicines for all” in Valachil Campus on 25.09.2019.

Dr. K.R. Premanath Shenoy, President, IPA, Karnataka State, Bengaluru inaugurated the Programme by lighting the lamp and called upon the pharmacists to face the world with open mind and further observed medical and para medical personnel are sole responsible for total care of patients. He highlighted the role of pharmacists, who shoulder great responsibility in healthcare system.

CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, President, A.Shama Rao Foundation, Mangalore & Chancellor, Srinivas University, Mangalore in his presidential remarks called the budding pharmacist to come up with quality medicines and provide good healthcare as the life is precious.

Chief Guest, Dr. M Khalid Ahmed Khan, Asst. Drugs controller, Bengaluru highlighted the role of pharmacist in providing quality healthcare of the society.

Dr. A.R.Shabaraya, Principal & Director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, President, IPA, local branch, Mangalore exhorted the students to attract the attention of the world towards the pharmacists who play significant role in healthcare system and also said there is a need to respect and recognise work of pharmacists. Guest of Honour, Shri. Shankar Naik, Asst. Drugs Controller, Mangalore was present during the programme.

Shri Raghuveera M, Senior Pharmacist was felicitated for his service in community Pharmacy, Mr. Bhavinkumar Gowda, Recipient of Best Pharmacist award in Karnataka State (PMBJK), Sullia, (Alumnus of Srinivas College of Pharmacy) were felicitated recognising their professional achievements.

Dr. M Khalid Ahmed Khan, gave a talk on Drugs and Cosmetic Act, Shri. Shankar Naik, gave a talk on Drug Abuse Awareness, Shri Romans Basil Lobo, gave a talk on Challenges faced by Community Pharmacists & Dr. K.R. Premanath Shenoy, CEO, Dr. Shenoy Pharma Consultancy, Bengaluru gave a talk on Updation of professional skills.

Dr. E.V.S Subrahmanyam, Vice President, IPA local branch Mangalore welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Ms. Agnes Jain Rose, Ms. Jewel Janice anchored the programme. Mr. Viresh K Chandur, Asst. Professor & coordinator of the programme readout the citations of the achievers. Dr. A.R.Shabaraya, Principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy proposed vote of thanks.
